Dr. Lapporte graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder and then earned his doctorate from the Child & Family Clinical Psychology program at Michigan State University. He then completed his internship in child clinical and medical psychology at Children's Memorial Hospital (now Lurie's Children's) in Chicago. Prior to opening Drs.
Dr. Lapporte graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder and then earned his doctorate from the Child & Family Clinical Psychology program at Michigan State University. He then completed his internship in child clinical and medical psychology at Children's Memorial Hospital (now Lurie's Children's) in Chicago. Prior to opening Drs. Lapporte, Wright & Assoc., PC in 1994, he held numerous positions including staff psychologist for the Rush Therapeutic Day School, consultant/supervisor for the Youth Service Project in Chicago and various social service agency positions in Boulder County, Colorado.
Dr. Lapporte sees patients of all ages and is well-respected for his work with couples & families affected by behavioral and/or emotional problems, mood and anxiety disorders and neuro-psychological difficulties. He has been an invited speaker on the topics of Tourette's Disorders and post-divorce parent/child relationship. He is also a skilled provider of EMDR.
Dr. Lapporte is married (to Dr. Wright!) and has young adult twins. He enjoys health/fitness, high-end audio, anything related to cars and spending time with his family

Dr. Wright graduated from Duke University in 1986. Before starting her graduate studies, she spent a year working at a runaway shelter outside of Washington, D.C. She then earned her doctoral degree from the Child & Family Clinical Psychology program at Michigan State University and completed her internship at Children's Memorial Hospita
Dr. Wright graduated from Duke University in 1986. Before starting her graduate studies, she spent a year working at a runaway shelter outside of Washington, D.C. She then earned her doctoral degree from the Child & Family Clinical Psychology program at Michigan State University and completed her internship at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Prior work positions include staff psychologist at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and staff psychologist at the Child Protection Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Dr. Wright co-founded Drs. Lapporte, Wright & Assoc., PC in 1994. She sees clients of all ages and works with individuals, couples and families. Specializations include: Discernment Counseling, child and adolescent psychology, family systems therapy, couples therapy, and medical psychology (e.g., pain management, biopsychosocial factors in chronic illness, etc), and youth sports/performance psychology.
Dr. Wright is married (to Dr. Lapporte!) and has young adult (boy-girl) twins. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, playing the piano, and working in the garden -- if the rabbits don't get there first.

Having interned with Drs. Lapporte, Wright & Assoc., PC in 2005-06, Dr. Huyser joined the practice in 2011. She utilizes an integrative and collaborative approach that allows clients to explore obstacles that interfere with the attainment of personal goals. She enjoys working with a range of issues including ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, dependence disorders and others. She has specialized training in research-based approaches to marital therapy, cognitive-behavior therapy for the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. As healthy living is a central focus in her personal life, Dr. Huyser has also received certification in nutrition and mental health.
Dr. Huyser keeps busy with four children. She enjoys running, traveling and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Parkhurst received his PhD in Psychology from the University of Tennessee and completed his internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Boys Town Center for Behavioral Health in Nebraska.
Dr. Parkhurst is trained in evidence-based assessment and therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Unified Protocol (UP), Parent Management Training (PMT), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Functional Family Therapy (FFT). With this training, he is well-equipped to treat a range of common mental health concerns and work with families managing challenging contexts including including divorce, school transitions, and traumatic stress. He is especially interested in treating anxiety, OCD, Tic/Tourettes and mood disorders.
