EMDR

EMDR is a well-researched and validated technique used primarily as a treatment for trauma. It has also been shown to help with the reduction of psychological stress and can be adapted to provide a method for enhancing "peak performance."  Dr. Lapporte uses EMDR regularly in his work with clients.

overview

EMDR  (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an internationally  approved treatment for all kinds of psychological trauma arising from  accidents, abuse, assaults, natural disasters, and bereavements, to  attachment traumas that may be experienced in childhood.

EMDR  involves talking and bilateral stimulation, typically eye movements.  The aim is to reduce distress and negative beliefs associated with past  overwhelming or traumatic experiences that are having a significant  impact on our mental health.

Here is a short YouTube video that helps explain EMDR.
